A modern new home

The homeowners tore down the existing house and had a new one custom-built by M Berman Homes. The home backs onto a valley and is surrounded by trees, so they were looking for a landscape to complement the natural beauty of the property.

A challenging landscape

The existing grading of the property created a bit of a challenge since heavily sloped properties can make it difficult to bring in trucks, equipment and other materials. There was an existing pool at the bottom of the slope, but it was overgrown and inaccessible. And since the house was still under construction, we had to navigate the space with multiple trades.

A relaxing place to entertain

The new landscape is perfectly set up for entertaining, with multi-level patio areas surrounding the house and a separate area for pool parties nestled against the treeline. What started out as a blank slate has been transformed into an inviting place where they can spend time with their family and friends.

Key Design Features

The revamped pool area — designed by Boulder Design — included Techo Bloc Rocka Steps leading from the house to the pool, paired with Techo Bloc Blu Grande slabs for the pool deck. Iron Eagle Fencing surrounds the pool to complete the design.
We used Techo Bloc Blu Grande slabs for the patio area and Mega Melville slabs for the driveway to complement both the architecture of the home and the pool area.
Raised stone planter boxes flank the stairs leading to the upper patio, providing a beautiful transition between the two seating areas. Retaining walls were constructed using Techo Bloc Raffinato.
Kichler brand landscape lighting was installed around the pool, making it safe, accessible and beautiful after the sun dips behind the trees.
